Except for large-scale independent automobile air-conditioning units, general automobile air-conditioning compressors are connected with the main shaft of the engine through electromagnetic clutches. The stop and start of the compressor are determined by the pull-in and release of the electromagnetic clutch. Therefore, the electromagnetic clutch is an executive component in the automatic control system of automobile air-conditioning. It is affected by the temperature switch (thermostat), pressure switch (pressure relay), speed relay and the control of the power switch and other components. It is generally installed at the front end of the compressor.

Electromagnetic clutch is also called electromagnetic coupling. It uses the principle of electromagnetic induction and the friction between the inner and outer friction plates to make two rotating parts in the mechanical transmission system. Under the condition that the active part does not stop rotating, the driven part can be combined or separated from the electromagnetic mechanical connection. The device is an automatically executed electrical appliance. The electromagnetic clutch can be used to control the starting, reverse, speed regulation and braking of the machine. It has the advantages of simple structure, fast action, small control energy, and convenient for remote control; although small in size, it can transmit a large torque; when used for brake control, it has the advantages of rapid and stable braking.

Note: In order to prevent impurities and moisture in the air from condensing on the parts and entering the system, the disassembled parts should be resealed as soon as possible.
①Operate the recovery procedure of air-conditioning refrigerant.
②Disconnect the negative wire cable of the battery.
③Remove the drive belt.
④Remove the high and low pressure air conditioning pipe joints on the compressor.
⑤Disconnect the compressor harness connector.
⑥Remove the compressor fixing bolts and remove the compressor.

The installation process of automobile air-conditioning compressor:
①Install the compressor fixing screw, install and tighten the compressor fixing bolt.
②Connect the compressor harness connector.
③Mounting high and low pressure air-conditioning compressor head tube technology.
④Install the drive belt.
⑤Connect the negative wire cable of the battery.
⑥Operate the filling procedure of air-conditioning refrigerant.
