Upgrades Automated Production Line — Car AC Compressor

Holicen Upgrades Automated Production Line: Rotary Vane, Electric and Scroll Automotive A/C Compressors in a Full Range of Models, with Model Verification and Flexible Order Quantities
Changzhou, China — September 2026 — Changzhou Helisheng New Energy Technology Ltd. has completed the upgrade and expansion of its automotive A/C compressor automated production line. The line manufactures rotary vane, scroll and electric compressors across a wide range of structures and displacements, covering belt-driven and electric drive (low-voltage DC 12V / 24V and high-voltage DC). Customers need only send a vehicle model, model year or original OE number for a verified match. No minimum order — one unit or a full container, multiple models mixed in one shipment.

1. Upgraded automated production line: multi-model production at scale

Holicen has long manufactured automotive A/C compressors. The upgrade added automated machining, assembly and testing equipment, moving the line from single-model capability to parallel, multi-model production:

1.  Wider model coverage. Rotary vane, scroll and electric compressors run in parallel in one system, covering different platforms and displacements.

2.  More consistent quality. Automated machining and assembly cut the variation of manual work; batch consistency and interchangeability improve.

3.  More reliable lead times. Fast changeover keeps small trial and full-container orders in one production system.

2. Three mainstream compressor structures, available across a wide range of models

The compressor is the core of the A/C system, compressing low-temperature, low-pressure refrigerant into high-temperature, high-pressure gas — the "heart" of the refrigeration cycle. On a 2024 global new-installation basis, scroll is about 42%, swash plate about 31% and rotary vane about 17%, with electric compressors at about 36%; on the conventional internal-combustion passenger car basis, swash plate still leads at about 65%. New energy vehicle compressors are essentially electric scroll units.

Holicen's range covers the three mainstream structures below:

1.  Rotary vane. Simple, few parts, small and light, lower cost, good at idle — easy to package in a tight engine bay and suited to minicars, vans and light trucks with limited space and medium-to-low loads. To be objective: volumetric efficiency and high-speed performance are lower than scroll units, so select with us for your conditions. Units with optimised vane and end-face fits address the low-speed centrifugal-force characteristic [OPTIONAL: confirm the specific optimisation].

2.  Scroll. Orbiting and fixed scrolls mesh to compress gas, with no reciprocating parts. High volumetric efficiency, smooth operation, low noise and low discharge temperature suit small-displacement passenger cars and new energy vehicles; in electric compressors, scroll is the mainstream choice.

3.  Electric (battery-driven). Motor, controller and compressor integrated, battery-powered, with the controller regulating speed to control cooling capacity — no engine belt. Low-voltage DC and high-voltage DC units serve new energy passenger cars, commercial vehicles and retrofits. Other structures (such as swash plate) and variable-displacement models are verified on request.

Available types and structures

Structure Working principle Key features Typical applications Common configuration
Rotary vane Gas compressed by vanes rotating in the cylinder Small, light, compact, low noise, easy capacity control Minicars, vans, light trucks, tight engine bays Mainly fixed displacement; belt pulley + electromagnetic clutch; R134a
Scroll Gas compressed by meshing orbiting and fixed scrolls High volumetric efficiency (literature: approx. 85%–95%), smooth, low noise, low discharge temperature Small-displacement passenger cars, new energy vehicles, NVH-sensitive models Fixed / variable displacement; R134a, R1234yf
Electric Motor-driven, controller regulates speed No belt, high energy efficiency, precise control, cooling while parked New energy passenger cars / commercial vehicles, retrofits, parking air conditioning Low voltage 12V / 24V, high-voltage DC; mainly scroll
Other structures (on request) Swash plate, variable displacement, etc. Matched to the vehicle's original configuration Large-displacement passenger cars, commercial vehicles Verified against your model / OE number

3. Model verification service: turning "vehicle information" into "the right part number"

The difficult part is not purchasing but the model number, so the company provides free model verification and fitment confirmation.

Five items the customer needs to provide

1.  Vehicle model + model year + displacement (e.g. a 2010 2.4L model)

2.  A photo of the original compressor nameplate, or the original OE / aftermarket number (e.g. 447220-3896, 88320-28350)

3.  Pulley groove count and diameter (or a photo of the compressor front)

4.  Port type and position (suction / discharge diameter and orientation)

5.  Refrigerant type (R134a or R1234yf) and whether an electromagnetic clutch is fitted

Seven key parameters verified by the company
Item verified Why it must be checked
Compressor displacement / structure Affects cooling capacity and mounting dimensions
Cylinder count / internal model code Same housing, clearly different performance
Pulley groove count and diameter Mismatch means no fit, or belt slip
Mounting bosses and locating dowels Offset holes mean the unit cannot be secured
Inlet / outlet port specification and orientation Decides whether piping connects directly
Electromagnetic clutch / connector type Affects wiring and control logic
Refrigerant type and lubricating oil R134a and R1234yf must never be mixed

4. Flexible purchasing: from a single unit to small batches and full containers

After the upgrade, the entry threshold is kept low while volume capability is retained:

1.  Sample / trial orders: from one unit, for repair, testing or installation verification.

2.  Small batches: replenishment for repair shops, wholesalers and regional distributors.

3.  Mixed-model orders: different structures and vehicle models in one order, reducing overstocking of any single model.

4.  Full-container / volume orders: long-term supply for OEM assembly, distributors and upfitters.

5.  Packaging and branding: neutral packaging, or customer-branded packaging and labelling (OEM / ODM) on request [TO CONFIRM with the business team].

Quotations are itemised by model, quantity and configuration; mixed orders include a model detail list. Standard lead time is [7–30 working days]; volume orders follow the production schedule.

5. Testing and protection before shipment

Every compressor undergoes [TO CONFIRM: specific test items and standards] leak testing and running tests before shipment, is pre-filled with matching PAG oil, and has its ports sealed against moisture in transit and storage. Packaging is shock- and corrosion-protected for sea and air freight. Certifications held: [ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 or actual].

6. Three steps to start ordering

1.  Send your information: vehicle model, model year, displacement, and a photo of the original compressor or its OE number.

2.  Model verification: we reply with the matching model, key parameters and a quotation, including a mixed-order option.

3.  Confirm and order: one-unit samples ship immediately; volume orders follow lead time with a detail list.

FAQ

Q1. What types of automotive A/C compressors are there, and how do rotary vane, scroll and swash plate differ?

Three main categories by working principle: swash plate (reciprocating piston), scroll and rotary vane — the latter two rotary types. Swash plate is mature and reliable for large-displacement vehicles, about 65% of passenger cars in China. Scroll gives high volumetric efficiency, low noise and smooth running for small-displacement and new energy vehicles, about 25%. Rotary vane is the smallest and lightest, for minicars and vans, about 10%. Electric compressors are battery-driven, mostly scroll.

Q2. How do I confirm which compressor model my vehicle uses?

Send the vehicle model, model year and displacement, plus a photo of the original nameplate or the OE number. The manufacturer verifies displacement, cylinder count, pulley grooves, mounting bosses, ports, clutch connector and refrigerant type, then confirms the matching model. Ordering by vehicle name alone easily mismatches — configurations often differ between model years and displacements.

Q3. Can I buy just one unit? What is the minimum order quantity?

Yes — orders start from a single unit for repair shops, end users and installation verification, as well as small-batch and full-container volume orders, with no restriction on quantity.

Q4. Can different models be mixed in one order?

Yes. Rotary vane, scroll and electric compressors and other structures can be combined in one order, with a model detail list issued with the shipment.

Q5. Do you support OEM branding or customer-brand packaging?

Neutral packaging is available, and customer-branded packaging and labelling can be provided on request. [TO CONFIRM: the specific minimum order quantity and scope for OEM / ODM.]

Q6. Are R134a and R1234yf compressors interchangeable?

No. R134a and R1234yf differ in physical properties, and the matching oil, seal material and system pressure design differ too. Order by the original refrigerant type; when replacing a compressor, also replace the receiver drier and flush the system, or cooling and warranty coverage suffer.

Q7. What is the difference between an electric compressor and a conventional belt-driven compressor?

A conventional compressor is belt-driven, so its speed follows the engine and it cannot run with the engine off. An electric compressor integrates motor, controller and compressor: battery-powered with the controller regulating speed, it adjusts cooling capacity precisely on demand and cools while parked. Low-voltage DC (12V / 24V) and high-voltage DC versions serve commercial vehicle parked cooling and new energy vehicle A/C systems.

Q8. How quickly can I get a quotation, and how quickly can you ship?

With complete vehicle and model information, quotations are answered within 24 hours and model verification usually within 1 working day. In-stock models ship within 48 hours; volume orders follow the production schedule.
